Copper Square Kitchen Backsplash
This kitchen along the Atlanta Road corridor in Vinings went through a full cabinet and hardware update, with the copper-tone backsplash tile installed as the final element. The owner wanted warmth in what was otherwise a fairly cool-toned kitchen, and the copper glaze tile with its slight surface variation achieves that without competing with the off-white cabinet fronts.
The tile was set in a tight stacked grid. Getting the grid perfectly square against the existing cabinet layout required a careful starting line. The under-cabinet LED strip installed above the backsplash catches the glaze variation in the tile and shifts the apparent tone of the wall throughout the day.
What We Did
- Established a perfectly square starting line against the cabinet base.
- Set tile in stacked grid bond with consistent 1/16-inch joints.
- Cut cleanly around outlets and inside corners.
- Grouted with dark grout to complement the hardware palette.
