Gray Marble Dual Vanity Bathroom
This primary bathroom in a Vinings Jubilee area home used a large-format gray marble-look porcelain with a strong swirling vein pattern on both the walls and floor. With a tile that has this much visual movement, the wall-to-floor transition requires careful planning so the veining does not conflict at the seam. We laid the wall tile first, then aligned the floor tile direction to continue rather than interrupt the visual flow.
The dual vanity wall received the full tile treatment from floor to ceiling. The gold ladder-style towel warmer and round backlit mirrors are owner-supplied. The tile joints on the vanity wall were kept tight at 1/16 inch to minimize grout visibility against the complex pattern.
What We Did
- Planned tile direction so wall and floor veining aligned at the seam.
- Set wall tile with leveling clips using white-body thinset (required for light tile).
- Set floor tile continuing the vein direction established on walls.
- Grouted with matching tight-joint grout; sealed all joints.
