Marble-Look Bathroom Remodel
This full bathroom remodel in a Smyrna home near Spring Road replaced dated beige tile from floor to ceiling with large-format white marble-look porcelain. The tile runs floor-to-ceiling on all walls, which requires very straight, plumb substrate and precise joint alignment so the horizontal grout lines wrap the room continuously at the same height.
The floor-to-wall tile transition uses a mitered edge rather than a bullnose cap, which keeps the marble-look visual uninterrupted at the base. White unsanded grout was used throughout to minimize joint visibility against the white tile body. The gold hardware and round backlit mirrors are owner-supplied fixtures; our scope covered all tile and substrate work only.
What We Did
- Demo of existing tile, wall repair and substrate check for plumb across all walls.
- Applied appropriate primer to walls before large-format tile adhesive.
- Set floor tile from center, then wall tile with leveling clips to maintain flatness.
- Grouted with white unsanded grout, cleaned haze, and sealed grout lines.
