Copper-Tone Backsplash Installation
This kitchen renovation in the King Springs area of Smyrna paired new cream-toned lower cabinets and black hardware with a warm copper-tone square backsplash tile. The tile has a slightly varied glaze surface that reads differently under natural light versus the under-cabinet LED strip installed just above the backsplash run.
The square format was stacked in a grid bond rather than offset, which suits the tile's variation in tone and keeps the look structured. Dark grout was used rather than matching the tile, which emphasizes the grid pattern and reads well against the black hardware throughout the kitchen.
What We Did
- Measured and confirmed stacked grid layout centered on the visible back wall.
- Applied thinset and set tile in grid bond with consistent joint spacing.
- Cut around outlets, corners, and upper cabinet edges cleanly.
- Grouted with dark grout to complement the hardware and emphasize the grid pattern.
